One of the smallest and most exclusive of the holiday islands in the Caribbean, Anguilla is only a few miles north of St. Martin/St. Maarten. The white sand beaches here are among the best in the Caribbean and the coral reefs just offshore also provide some of the finest scuba diving and snorkeling in the region.

There are about two dozen hotels and resorts on Anguilla, almost all of which are on the sunset/northwestern-facing side of the island. Prices are quite high in all categories and some of the finest and most expensive resorts in all of the Caribbean can be found here.
Hotel seasons just like the weather, change throughout the year. If you’re looking to save a little money on your vacation, consider booking during the off season. Summer and fall tend to see lower prices due to heavier rain and the possibility of a big storm.
Peak season runs from mid December through the end of April. During these months, hotel costs generally rise about 20 percent or so. This is also the time of year where the weather is the most agreeable for most travelers.

There’s a small airport in Anguilla that has daily flights from San Juan, Puerto Rico as well as flights on smaller craft to connect with other nearby islands. The flights to Anguilla are among the most expensive starting from North America or Europe so it’s worth knowing that there’s also a 20-minute ferry from nearby Sint Maarten, and flights into that island are far, far cheaper.

Due to its location in the tropics, Anguilla is privy to great weather year round. In fact, there is not much seasonal change. Instead visitors will find light breezes coming off of the ocean and mild to warm temperatures.
Most who visit the island come to experience the warm water and its reefs. Due to this, it’s best to pack light clothing and swimsuits.
