Malaga is the largest city in Spain’s Costa del Sol and it’s one of the few places along the beach that includes some cultural offerings to go along with the sunbathing and drinking. But it’s here as a typical example of low to mid-range cities all along the Costa del Sol.

As you can see, hotel prices along the Costa del Sol vary widely, ranging from shabby bargain hotels to pristine 5-star hotels at outrageous prices. So there is literally something for every budget, at least assuming you can afford to fly in in the first place.
Package deals including a flight+hotel are extremely popular here, and are always worth checking before you decide. Still, it’s easy to get a cheap flight and book a cheap hotel on your own, so it works well either way.
This city is visited year round but with most visitors deciding to travel during the summer which in turn drives up the price of hotel rooms a bit. If you’re looking to save a little money, then you might want to consider visiting during another part of the year.

Summer is the best time of the year to visit with plenty of sun, sand and water to keep you busy. If you rather visit when the weather isn’t as warm, both spring and fall still offer up sunny days but with a more mild temperature range.
Winter is the coldest part of the year but due to its location, doesn’t get as cold as its northern neighbors.
