One of the larger of the Greek holiday islands, Rhodes also has greater diversity among activities and attractions than most others. In July and August you’ll predictably find it packed with package tourists and families from northern Europe, but there is more to it than that.

Along with Santorini and Mykonos, the island of Rhodes is packed all summer with visitors in all price ranges. Hotels and hostels here can be good value, especially if you don’t mind being a longer walk from the beach. You’ll often find hotel+air packages at good prices if you are coming from within Europe.
May, June, September and October are the best months to visit if you’re looking for great weather coupled with lower prices.
July and August are the busiest time of the year with international visitors coming into town all at the same time. This is also the time of year when hotel prices are at their highest.

A ferry ride to Turkey is an option here, although you’ll arrive in yet another seaside resort town with higher prices.

Located at the bottom of the Greek Isles, Rhodes also has one of the hottest summers. July and August, though beautiful, might be a little too hot for some visitors while others travel specifically during that time.
If you’re looking for cooler days, the best months to visit are April, May, September and October. During these months the temperature is a little gentler while the ocean breeze helps to provide relief.
